    Alachua Learning Academy serves Kindergarten through Eighth Grade
  • Where are you located?
    We are in the town of Alachua. On CR 235, about 2.5 miles North of US 441
  • What are your hours?
    School begins at 7:55 am. Students may be dropped off as early as 7:30 am. Dismissal is 1:40 pm for K - 2nd, 1:45 pm for 3rd Grade, 1:50 pm for 4th Grade, and 1:55 pm for 5th - 8th grades. The Office is open from 7:45 am to 2:45 pm Monday through Friday.
  • How many students attend the ALA?
    We value a small school environment. We have 1 class per grade, with a maximum of 182 students.
  • Are you a public school?
    Yes, Alachua Learning Academy is a Public Charter School and is part of the School Board of Alachua County.
  • Is there an afterschool program?
    Yes, the Afterschool program runs from 1:45 pm to 6:00pm. Students are provided with a snack and dinner.
  • Does your curriculum conform to Florida state Standards?
    Yes, Alachua Learning Academy has consistently been a high performing Grade "A" School.
  • What is your School Lunch Like?
    School lunches are healthy, vegetarian and kid friendly. Our dedicated kitchen staff prepare meals using fresh ingredients daily. Monthly menus are available on our website and in the school office.

    No, Alachua Learning Academy is not a religious school. Alachua Learning Academy is a non-sectarian Public Charter School that emphasizes acceptance and understanding. We have a diversity of cultures and beliefs in our faculty and student body, and believe that through sharing and celebrating together students become familiar with their similarities. We see this as an important key to success in a globalized workforce and harmonious multicultural society.

    Yes, any student living in the city of Alachua can ride the bus to school and home.
  • Are there zoning restrictions for attending your school?
    No, there are no zoning restrictions. Students can live anywhere and attend Alachua Learning Academy. The bus only serves students within the city of Alachua, so parents must be prepared to drive if you do not live in Alachua.
  • How do I apply?
    Applications are available on our website, and in the office. We accept new students using a lottery system. Feel free to call or drop by our office if you need any assistance in applying.
